About Us Leander Parents is a parent-led resource for parents, families, caregivers, and grown-ups in our community who support public schools, advocate for teachers, students, and staff, and want to help make our schools and cities better. We believe in supporting public education and empowering teachers to inspire students and ensure a welcoming, safe, and caring environment for everyone. Leander Parents support literacy and highlight kid-friendly learning opportunities and events. Additionally, we monitor and create awareness about local and national hate groups, anti-public school efforts, and disinformation campaigns in our schools and community. Our purpose is to inform, educate, and connect our community. We are not a political action committee or campaign and do not raise or donate funds to others. Instead, we share information and resources. We encourage every parent to learn and make decisions about who will support our students, teachers, and families. We are not affiliated with LISD. However, as parents of LISD students, we champion the district’s work. LISD develops our children into, “Critical & Creative Thinkers, Skilled Communicators & Collaborators, Compassionate Community Contributors, and Adaptable & Reflective Individuals.” And we support and encourage them to live up to their guiding documents: https://www.leanderisd.org/guidingdocuments/ Like and follow us on Facebook and Threads, and share information about Leander Parents to help us support each other.
